Compare catalog exports when price and stock matter
Last updated: 2026-10-15
A weekly Shopify, ERP, or PIM dump often has the same SKUs in a different row order. A text diff looks like everything changed. What you usually need: which SKUs are new or gone, and which still-active SKUs changed price or stock.
What to put in A vs B
- CSV A — older catalog (last week / last publish).
- CSV B — newer catalog.
- Keep the header row. Match on
sku,id, or your product code column.
How to read the results
- Removed — discontinued or missing SKUs.
- Added — new codes in this week’s file.
- Changed — same SKU, different price, stock, title, etc.
When not to use table compare
If you only need “which SKUs exist,” extract the column and use
inventory / SKU lists
or
CSV as ID lists.
Native .xlsx is not parsed—export CSV first. See
CSV compare docs.
FAQ
How do I compare two product catalog CSVs for price changes?
Open CSV table compare, match on SKU, then filter Changed.
What if I only need new vs discontinued SKUs?
Use list compare after extracting the SKU column—not cell-level compare.
